After visiting Dad in Indiana, I spent a long weekend with some of my mother’s family in Arizona. The desert is in bloom reminded me of Bishop Shaw’s description of the beauty of the desert in the Holy Land where some of the leaders of early church communities spent Lent in solitude.
We visited the House of Joseph Retreat Center near Prescott and walked the “stations of the cross.”
Now Bailey and I are driving east on I-80 headed for Holy Cross Monastery.
